Description
The World Scientific Reference of Hybrid Materials is a set of 3 volumes, which covers the fascinating area of materials science at the intersection between purely polymeric, organic or inorganic materials. The rapidly developing research on hybrid materials is largely driven by the steadily increasing need of multifunctional materials in various branches of technology. However, much of the research is also driven by the curiosity of the researchers and the long lasting wish to merge the most beneficial properties of the various materials into one. The flexibility of polymers could, for example, be merged with the electronic conductivity of metals or the mechanical resistance of ceramics, which will be of great value for the industries. This reference covers the areas of synthesis of such hybrid materials, which take benefit from each of the consisting ingredients, and overviews some of the emerging applications based on the materials. Much of the current research is still in its infancy, but hybrid materials are already now considered to be the key enabler for important future developments, for example flexible electronics. With this perspective, this reference aims at giving the general public an overview over the topics of relevance in this field, but also attracting new researchers to this intriguing scientific area.Contents: Volume 1: Block Copolymers (Yong Wang): Functional Nanostructured Materials via Self-Assembly of Block Copolymers (Andriy Horechyy, Bhanu Nandan and Manfred Stamm) Selective Swelling of Block Copolymers for Porous Nanostructures (Leiming Guo, Zhaogen Wang and Yong Wang) Well-Ordered Inorganic Nanonetworks from Block Copolymer Templates: Syntheses and Applications (Chung-Fu Cheng, Kai-Chieh Yang and Rong-Ming Ho) CO₂-Modulated Self-Assembly of Block Copolymers (Bin Yu and Yue Zhao) Highly Regular Nanocylinder Structure of Liquid Crystalline Block Copolymer PEO-b-PMA(Az) Films and Its Templating Processes (Motonori Komura and Tomokazu Iyoda) Block Copolymers for Fabrication of Asymmetric Ultrafiltration Membranes Through Surface Segregation Method (Mingrui He, Runnan Zhang, Xinda You, Jialin Cao, Ran Bi, Weixiong Guo, Yanlei Su and Zhongyi Jiang) Volume 2: Devices from Hybrid and Organic Materials (Vida Turkovic, Morten Madsen and Horst-Günter Rubahn): Section 1: Interfaces in Organic and Hybrid Devices: Modelling Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Interfaces (Oliver T Hofmann and Egbert Zojer) Graphene Properties by Functionalization with Organic Molecules (Guido Fratesi, Abhilash Ravikumar and Gian Paolo Brivio) Metal-Oxide Interface Materials for Organic and Perovskite Solar Cells (Selina Olthof and Thomas Riedl) Surface and Interface Characterization in Organic Electronics (Nadine Witkowski) Section 2: Development of Functional Devices: Modelling Organic Devices — Foundation, Implementation, and Merit of the Kinetic Monte Carlo Method (Markus Krammer and Karin Zojer) Innovative Materials for the Development of Stable and Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells (Laura Caliò, Manuel Salado, Samrana Kazim and Shahzada Ahmad) Organic and Hybrid Photodetectors (Bernhard Siegmund and Koen Vandewal) Organic Light-Emitting Transistors (Luciana Tavares and Jakob Kjelstrup-Hansen) State of the Art in Flexible Electrochromic Devices for Shading Applications (Luca Beverina, Mauro Sassi and Uwe Posset) Organo-Silane Self-Assembly on Porous Silicon and Silica Particle-Based Sensors (Chloé Rodriguez, Paola Pellacani and Miguel Manso-Silván) Section 3: Stability and Up-Scaling of Organic and Hybrid Devices: Degradation Mechanisms in Organic Photovoltaic Devices (William Greenbank and Sylvain Chambon) Inhibiting Photo-Oxidative Degradation in Organic Solar Cells Using Stabilizing Additives (Vida Turkovic and Morten Madsen) Scaling-Up of Dye Sensitized Solar Modules (Luigi Vesce, Andrea Guidobaldi, Paolo Mariani, Aldo di Carlo, Maria Laura Parisi, Simone Maranghi and Riccardo Basosi) Perovskite Photovoltaic Modules (Robert...
